I was quite happy I got my day off today, being Maal Hijrah or Muslim New Year 1429H! Wow! I managed to get some decent sleep after I had to endure the 72 hour long shift during the Christmas and New Year holidays, plus the extra work load and that Kedah and North was working on New Year, which meant I clocked off at 0645AM and had to be dragged back to work to punch back in at 0800hrs.

Happy to hear my wife wanted to take time off from work and have a proper decent meal, meaning steak et all with Filet Migion and such. It was months we had that because of the financial stuff I have to pay…and like that ah. It’s hard to eat out with Tia about as she can’t sit still. Getting hassled is something I don’t look forward to, which means that I had to run about with Tia so that after we ordered our food, I had to do some exercise with Tia running about to entertain her within the vicinity , which normally means McDonald or some other stuff. And after that, Mommy Tia must complete the task of photographing the evidence of the food and downing her meal, it’s our turn, hopefully with Tia able to eat the food.

The Deal: Grilled Salmon for Tia, Rib Eye Steak for me and “Strip lion Steak” with broccoli for Mommy.

At first, Tia was very happy to see her specialty food. A real treat for her other than the normal McDonalds or Starbucks Coffee.

But something was amiss. Honestly. Tia never ever don’t like Salmon. Be it grilled or baked or what ever. She kept on spitting the thing out and I grew suspicious. I must admit, it does taste funny to me, like when I left the fish out to thaw for too long or undercooked or thawed and refrozen and rethawed before cooking.. You get the drift. Tia was happy to see she got her treat of Salmon .. her favorite. Able to down a whole side of filleted Salmon Fish is her specialty. But I thought I was wandering off to the crazy Looney Toons section till I saw Tia puked out. Staff was not about..and took ages to get anything and I tasted the food again. Really funny. Bad Fish. Gave the mom to taste and it was a stale rotten fish alright.

The Trainee Manager came first. Was apologetic about this but he said there was nothing wrong with it. Honestly, these people don’t know nuts about food. Being living in the UK for past 14 years tell me that salmon is THE HARDEST FISH TO GET ROTTEN, heck they even make smoked salmon out of it. So to say I don’t know my food, is kinda bull.

A bad start for my new year celebration… Yeah..tell me about it. I am waiting to get sick and land myself into the hospital without proper medical coverage in Malaysia …if that is what you think the deal I am going to land. Heck I will have to drive down to Singapore for proper care.

Poor Me, I can’t even finish off my food, because Tia was already cranking up. Tia being Tia… will stop at nothing to enjoy herself despite being in pain. I had only like 3 slices of the Ribeye steak which was NOT COOKED PROPERLY. I asked for Medium, NOT RARE!

Just look at it. THIS WAS AFTER I ASKED THEM TO REDO IT! What they do? Ooh..send it to the kitchen and reheat. That is all to it..and it’s still freaking bloody! Heck the Store Manager came down and after I told him I won’t pay for the service charge, he still does not even give me his boss contact details.

And upon going out..I saw this GOB SMACKING OPPORTUNITY:
Their employee sleeping in the booth at the front end of the store. What on earth?! Excuses and excuses ..saying that their boss allows it..and that the section is closed off. Still …. it’s not an acceptable practice. The store was not closed yet. Even there was some Arabs behind me agreed that the service sucks…. getting something else instead of what they asked for.

I don’t care about RM138 …but it’s pretty ridiculous that having to pay for the food and service when you cannot even enjoy or consume the food properly. Heck, even at a roadside food stall, they give refunds for the food if you don’t enjoy it. Heck, not even any sense of compensation except an offer for some dessert which is pretty useless when your child and yourself is still freaking hungry. And annoyed.

Having to drive down to Kulim, Pay over $15 of Toll Charges and petrol to be given this kind of discriminated service is something I can’t accept. Just because we are Malays don’t think we have the buying power or authority. Heck, their words and tone of voice by saying , “please complain to my management as this is what I can only do” is somewhat challenging and just because they get paid at a miserable rate, does not mean they have to degrade their customers like so.

I have been coming to TGIF too often and I think this is why they treating their regulars so. I don’t think the Manager whom both are Indians / Asians will try to degrade their customers of their value if they are Chinese or Caucasians.

I’m honestly being phobic about the return visits. I don’t know..what you think. What experience have you had so far?? I just don’t want any Salmonella or Cholera or so OK!?

UPDATE:: Tia only managed to get her sleep today at 7 am in the morning and woke up just then about 1 pm complaining still of her tummy ache. There goes my weekend plans to visit the Mother in Law. And Tim of NN was nice to send me an email about the issue whom forwarded this off to the higher management. Surely, the last pic was something off-focus. A humour out of the whole thing. Maybe I should send this to Metro ain’t it?
