One of those things that reminds me very vividly was me on a crazy drive chase up from London to the Scandinavian countries, specifically SWEDEN, DENMARK, FINLAND and Germany. I drove up on the 5000 KM trek using an ancient Proton Saga 1.5 which is the first edition and well, let’s put it in this way…the customs (DUANE) were trying to figure out what car and where this piece of scrap metal came from, knowing it’s ENGLISH based….with the driver definitely on the wrong side of the road.
The roads to Sweden,Finland are without any hassle. No tolls except for the long causeway in Denmark and from Copenhagen to Malmo tunnel which costs about £28 which they don’t use the EURO. Yeah..it’s still Danish Kroners and Swedish Kroners except in Finland aka NOKIA-LAND , they love to grab hold of your Euros.
There is a difference in culture in Stockholm and the south, but typically they speak ‘VIKING’. Food culture is simple, but pork is the core food, but getting Halal food is easy in the big cities. Just avoid KFC too!
One thing if you are driving : Speed Limits vary, and rule of thumb, it’s about 90-110 in the areas, and lower when there are fog. No Fog Lamp is to be switched on if you don’t encounter fog as the person behind you will bedazzled by the bright red tail light. You also have to switch on your headlights at all times, thus why VOLVO and SKODA automatically switches the headlights on when you turn up the engine.
Oh ..as normal, there are always on the spot fines…and no tolerance to drink and drive.
Have fun in Scandinavia and always park and ride in the city, unless you want to risk yr car being towed!
Ehhh ni sambung yang haritu yerrr…
