Sometimes, I just wish that SEO & Pageranks don’t matter at all. Honest, it just gets your information incorrect. Pages of data and details and info all go to waste.
Well, this is my topic of the week. SEO,PageRanks and Search Engine Bots.

PageRank:
PAGERANK is a method to determine the importance level of relevance of a site by means of number,qualtity,quality and frequency of a mention of a URL from another website.
Say, if my site is mentioned by 3 websites with the urls encoded into the hyperlink, I would have my pages increased PageRank IF the quality of the Links are from Good Ranking Sites.

Traffic Rank:
Traffic Rank is determined by many factors. Speed of Loading , Daily Reach (Per Millions), PageViews Per User, and other related items in the site.

A good place to check and update the details are at www.Alexa.Com where you can see the whole idea what your site is all about, how much it is ranked etc.

Search Engine Optimisation SEO

Alot of people talk about SEO and SEDO and many other terms, but in essence, the way a search engine finds your data or content easily.

Simple starts? META TAGS.
This is encoded in your section of the webpage and descibes what your site is offering. You should have an automated meta for DESCRIPTION , TAGS, KEYWORDS.

Description will in short tell what your site is all about to the person when he/she searches the engines for your site.

Keywords will short list the topics that are covered in your site. The more the merrier.

TAGS is a complicated thing. It will tag up what the summary of each post/page is all about.

If you are using a CMS, check the settings if you can set this up! You may have to do some short term codings.

Lastly:
DMOZ : Open Directory Project

This is like a phonebook or white pages for a website. Tells all the engines what your site is about.
Make sure you put yr details in there.
