oh Pheueee! Hard disks and LBA

This hard disk thingy reminds me of good old days when I was working at Western Digital in Singapore.

I must admit, I am almost throwing the towel and buy myself a new hdd for my wife (or replace it with the cranny ol 20GB one that I took from the Advent in 2002!)

You see, IBM Travelstar uses Hitachi Hard Disks and well, sometimes you gotta use the low level format to find out the log-pull of the HDD.

I pulled some critical data re-assigning which they called the Drive Fitness Test, which basicly a log pull and Low-Level format, which seems pretty useful for recovering what U think is a dead drive.

I’m still 2hrs into the test and trying to do a sector recovery… so fingers crossed.

Oh, the data? Gone with the wind!
