Having fun with your blog

Tuesday 20 February 2007 @ 6:37 pm

I was at a friend’s blog site when this question popped into my mind. She asked is it rude not to leave a comment and not replying to it? And do I go check to see if there was a reply to my comment?

Those prorogatives are true. While some are replied, some are left as it is. I keep it to a balance of both as I feel my blog is “becoming less of geekiness”, a weblog. A personal rant and diary for everyone to read. Yes, I don’t have time to place pictures and the lack of creativity stopped me right at my tracks. What I offer is information and insider look. You don’t like how I write, then don’t come back.As simple as it goes, can’t say anything constructive, then shut up. So I can concentrate on more stuff, and get cracking. I’m a crackhead, meaning cracking codes and manipulating them, as how it should be. While some sell these small pieces of info for $100 a pop, I just let my readers know about it. Free. Like some of my counterparts on their SEO blog talking not just about SEO, but more of getting yourself known.

He has alot of things to share..and while reading his blog takes less than 10 minutes, it makes you learn a lesson well worth that 10mins!Go on. And should I close all comments?

You Suck Coffee Bean!

Thursday 15 February 2007 @ 7:17 am

Yes, I mean Coffee Bean Tea Leaf…that brand name….
Ruined my night out with my family and well, a real tosser I might say!

How could U sell a product knowingly that you guys run out of it? And having the cheek to offer a lower quality and cheaper alternative, claiming it is more expensive?

And took you 20 Mins to make me my Hot cuppa? What do you need to do….go down to the coffee field behind and go pluck it issit?

A real disappointment. Should have stuck my way to Starbucks…..if not for the missus!

Homeland Security

Monday 12 February 2007 @ 7:41 pm

I am a security freak, Network, Computing or Home Security. Even got my Military Security Classification and Training by the Department of Defence.
However, what is most important is the home. Home is an English Man’s Castle. To that extent that the Right to bear Arms and Defend Own Life amended the American Constitution.

So Why I am saying such a thing?? Well, mainly, alot of us have holiday homes, me included. So what else is best than to protect that second home with the best of security, protecting our own interests?I saw this Florida Security System which cost as much as $999 and it’s good and simple, with no contracts to cover, it cost about $22 a month to maintain the security monitoring. It’s Logo is the same as ADT in the far east, though I doubt they are the same, other than it’s concept. Alot of people are investing in this small insurance policy, cos without them, the Home Contents and Building Insurance may be voided. I got mine with Motorola…a DIY KIT. Still there is no other way than to ensure the safety of the loved ones. And the things inside the Castle.

That German Shepard doesn’t do the job anymore.

Is America Set for First Black President?

Saturday 10 February 2007 @ 6:59 pm

I thought the movie Head of State potrayed by Chris Rock was just a fluke of the gun, taking a mockery at the American Presidential Election and it’s system. Then today, I read about Senator Barrack OBAMA was hot on the heals to be a Presidential Candidate. Then what about Hillary Clinton? I don’t know cos alot of the electorates are abit …no let me reword it.. absolutely upset with the current Bush Administration. The War on Iraq really set the American Constituents divided and true to what Abraham Lincoln said, a house divided will not stand.

It’s something I don’t want to jinx myself with but don’t I foresee the Arnie the Terminator going about terminating all the terminal diseases of the American People? Taxes, Poverty, Economic downturn?

Let’s just wait and see.

Obama leaps into 2008 White House race
Posted: 11 February 2007 0122 hrs

Senator Barack Obama

SPRINGFIELD, United States : Senator Barack Obama has launched “an improbable quest” to become America’s first black president, brazenly claiming the mantle of Abraham Lincoln, the US icon who ended slavery.

“I want us to take up the unfinished business of perfecting our union, and building a better America,” Obama told thousands of supporters Saturday, shivering in temperatures of minus 11 degrees Celcius (13 Fahrenheit) in Lincoln’s hometown.

“You didn’t come here just for me, you came here because you believe in what this country can be,” said Obama, 45, muscling his way into a crowded Democratic field already dominated by Senator Hillary Clinton.

“In the face of war, you believe there can be peace. In the face of despair, you believe there can be hope,” said Obama, whose dazzling rhetoric has some giddy supporters evoking comparisons to political giants like former president John F. Kennedy.

Obama, son of a Kenyan economist and white American mother, also pledged to bring US troops home from Iraq, boost US efforts to combat global warming, and to provide health care to every American.

He spoke on the steps of the red-domed old Illinois statehouse where Lincoln, president from 1861 until his assassination in 1865, famously warned “a house divided against itself cannot stand.”

“If you will join me in this improbable quest, if you feel destiny calling, and see as I see, a future of endless possibility stretching before us … if you sense, as I sense, that the time is now to shake off our slumber, and slough off our fear … then I’m ready to take up the cause,” Obama said.

In an address also streamed live on the Internet, he echoed the man many Americans consider to be their greatest president saying, “divided we are bound to fail.”

“The life of a tall, gangly, self-made Springfield lawyer tells us that a different future is possible, he tells us there is power in words,” said Obama who once referred to himself as “a skinny kid, with a funny name.”

“Beneath all the differences of race and region, faith and station, we are one people. He tells us that there is power in hope.”

Terming his campaign an “improbable quest,” Obama pledged to end the tide of bitter cynicism in US politics after the Iraq war and years of anger between Republicans and Democrats.

But after only two years in Congress, the political phenom admitted some may view his campaign as too much, too soon.

“I recognize there is a certain presumptuousness — a certain audacity — to this announcement.”

“I know I haven’t spent a lot of time learning the ways of Washington. But I’ve been there long enough to know that the ways of Washington must change.”

Adopting the classic “outsider” position of US presidential challengers, Obama said he was not in the race “just to hold an office, but to gather with you to transform a nation.”

Obama must confound sceptics who warn lofty idealism can be ripped to shreds on the campaign trail.

Also looming is the Clinton election machine, as the former first lady takes her own tilt at history, hoping to become America’s first woman president in a Democratic race she already dominates, according to most polls.

A strong challenge is also forming up from 2004 Democratic vice presidential pick John Edwards.

Obama will this weekend campaign in Iowa and New Hampshire, nearly a year before the bellwether states hold early nominating contests for the Democratic and Republican presidential tickets and almost two years before America’s pick the 44th president.

On foreign policy, he vowed to “confront the terrorists with everything we’ve got,” but implicitly criticized President George W. Bush by vowing to rebuild US alliances to do so.

He reminded Americans that, unlike Clinton and Edwards, he had opposed the war in Iraq as a “tragic mistake” — though he was not in the US Senate when the 2003 vote to authorize war was taken.

“It’s time to start bringing our troops home. It’s time to admit that no amount of American lives can resolve the political disagreement that lies at the heart of someone else’s civil war,” he said.

Obama will instantly become the most credible African-American presidential candidate ever to mount a White House campaign, and is seen as having a real shot, in the most open White House race for 80 years.

But he told CBS 60 minutes in an interview to air Sunday: “If I don’t win this race it will be because of other factors — (that) I have not shown to the American people a vision for where the country needs to go.”

More Upgrades

Saturday 10 February 2007 @ 4:31 pm

Don’t say I DID NOT WARN YOU!
I am about to embark on my biggest project ever.

What to expect? Alot of downtime, for sure, cos mainly, I’m the only person doing all these stuff.Basicly, alot of factors made me do this.

1) Powweb Servers rental are due. They are not giving us the great deal as before. $7.77 was the deal, with buy one year, get 6mths free… and I took the 2yr get 2yr free. That is still active on the Perkahwinan.Org server. I’m going to remove all that, and port it to another single entity. I have 3 servers there, and there are are two which is under utilised and nearly to it’s end of the prepaid term. So , in order to renew, it’s $200 each, and it’s not worth it. I better put it to good use and renew the domains instead.

Their servers are getting VERY SLUGGISH nowadays, so I think it’s time to port out!Too much problems.

2)Hostgator Server 51 *(NS101) is on the Pre-Upgraded set. So, I am stuck with 5GB Space…and 75GB Bandwidth, whereas the newbies get 100GB space and 1,000GB *(that’s One Terrabyte!) Bandwidth. I have noticed that this server is getting sluggish and since the time we got banned due to a script error. So I did not want that to happen, and killed ALL of my sites, thus I took on more, with one I got for 1c on the first month. It’s silly, and I can say, it’s a real hassle!

But it works like a wonder! At least I can get things done properly, with PPP giving me a hit on the head for some work!

3)My Photo Galleries software are out of date, and so I took a new licensing for TWO new sites and a Photo based Advertising Gallery. That will be on my Free Property Listings - UK Edition. It’s a EBAY Style listing, and Foruming all in one. I will be working on it abit more, cos the previous marketplace I installed, well…sucked! Open Realty also has ALOT of limitations. I don’t want a vB based Job Marketplace…like Powweb did…..nor I want something on Ruby-on-Rails which I don’t even know head from tail! I will work on this once I learn new tricks and when my Linux machines come back to me. At least I can crash and trash it for all I care.

4)For the time being, it’s a one man show, less Mommy Tia & Co, in the world of Technology. My old operations have cease due to alot of problems I don’t even want to get into details. It sucks, and I hate to part with my friends who are my co-workers. So, if you want to work on this project with me, fine, as it’s quite promising, especially on the advertising aspect of things.

There will be more…but do understand if any of the network sites have an issue, it’s probably me doing something in the back…again!

Best Wishes.

Azrin

End of the Line?

Monday 5 February 2007 @ 12:56 pm

I was really going thru PayPerPost’s Blog posting by Ted Murphy today, and basicly, I feel that they are going into the direction of a mixture of ReviewMe and Adbrite. I try my best to be as tack and non-intrusive with my site, having to justify to PPP every other day that my sites are based with the life in the United Kingdom, and our current Walkabouts in the Far East. Yes,I run alot of sites, even one right now,I am about to fully launch with little regards to my Memoirs while “In the Army Now”, and a localised happening updates with Travel Sector, and the Point of View in a Citizens’ Level.

Firstly, I hate ADS. Honest. Even with over 50,000 advertisers in agreement with my network, I selected only 38 for my banner, mainly the UK Insurance Sector and EBAY, being me in their circle of Trust. Not to be discriminant to anyone, I added JDate, for our Jewish friends. I have Nothing against the Jews or Christians or any ‘GOOD’ religious faith.I even eat and drink with my friends who are Sikh,Taoist,Christian,Buddist and Hindu …all on the same table…from the same plate, while we were in the forces. Yeah, it’s VEGETARIAN,so we tend to be a bit flexible, amid that it’s only Roti Prata or so.

The fact that I chose only High Click Thru Earnings ads, meaning, earning worth at least $50 per sale.I pick and chose who I wanna be in alliance with.At times, yes I do a Price Runner.Allow me to give my readers (you) a possibility to choose and pick which items to buy, in relation to my personal review.Though it’s only 10c a click, it’s going to my Charitable Causes kitty, not of my own!

Now that I heard that PPP is going into Contextual Ads or Bubble Ads as they put it,I am VERY RESERVED to what I want to place in my sites. My main sites had a HUGE DROP in my returning visitors. A good yardstick is at Athira.NET where the Google PR went from 6 to ZERO with a NO PAGERANK PASSED indication, and My wife’s Food and Recipe segment , well..I don’t wanna comment.

While I think some ads won’t make the go away deeply, but a contextual ads which I have no control over is really really dangerous.I placed a huge control over Adsense itself,so I see only “KIDS RUNNING ABOUT” advertisements, and as in accordance to Advertising Standards Agency regulations.

It’s ugly enough that I have to place an icon (This is a Sponsored Ad by PayPerPost),with a color schema that does not fit my own site, like what PPP tried on their ‘Oh Bugger’ platform when segmentation kicks in.Honestly, FLORECENT GREEN?? What were they thinking??Even at Bidvertiser, which I really hate, allow me to successfully customise my own color schema, to a certain it does not look out of shape, and they, just paste what they think is great?

Take a look at this I made about Loudlaunch, and amid my reservations of their DISCLOSURE POLICY,the end wordings are, to me still acceptable.Though I prefer not to, so that a product I launch looks seemlessly as if it’s a normal day-to-day life diary entity. Like who don’t wrote product reviews? I do alot BEFORE Payperpost. That is Way Before they even know what the Internet is all about. It’s called Book Reviews. And we, as a site publisher, place advert linking for you to BUY THAT BOOK or similar books in the same sector,or by the Author itself. We don’t get a free book for that, other than the occasional gift vouchers given to affiliates by Borders or Amazon for getting x amount of people coming in or even entries. Some, we barter trade our commission for similar products, even personally autographed book by the writer. I do still remember that Harry Potter book I had while I was in Glasgow. Even my Lord of the Rings trilogy book is still here. And my kind sponsor at that time, Microsoft, sponsored alot of my books, from the inception of Site Builder Network to Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer program, I have it all, sponsored so that I can learn the tips and tricks of the Microsoft System and then promote their server programs to others. I write every day what I learn , the hacks, tricks and round-a-round.But I do not have to boldly say I am sponsored by or brought to you by Microsoft right? I worded it, that Bill Gates wanted you to know about…..and then it’s understood. We know it’s sponsored or somewhat like that. We get our freebie already.Even Network Solutions sent me to Singapore 500 pieces of T-Shirts (Which I still wear) of my Domain Name and it said, Domain Name : from Network Solutions. I even get to customise what slogan I want,” Your One Stop E-Point”

That is Corporate Sponsorship.Costed them alot of money for postage and costs alone, not just to one, but to SO MANY. Even my relations with Commission Junction is from their early days, till I has to wind up my US Company and restart, they are supportive. Promotional stuff, plus cash is MORE THAN WELCOMED. Heck I even put a large icon saying “Get your Freebie here” , bigger than the PPP icon to let people know who is sponsoring.

Now that they want to do bubble ads and such…I have to wait and see. Yes, we Oriental Operators may not be what you guys want, but we provide more indepth information than what you can get elsewhere. If you hate us so much, then don’t watch YAN CAN COOK, or any of Jackie Chan or Bruce Lee movies. Yes, we are the emerging markets, which the Europeans only seems to realise and try to get their feet in.To Globalise. Realising what Prophet Muhammed said, about find knowledge till ends of China. Cos why? They made their empires colonising the Far East and Asia, now they learnt their lesson and with deep roots, they know how and who to get into. US, the BLOGGERS. Even reviews in Chinese are well sought after if you want your car to be assembled and sold in China! That’s almost 2 BILLION CUSTOMERS. Far more than the average American buying power, and all IN CASH.No card,No Credit. Plain Cash.

So eventually, I will have to see if this is going to be worth for me, and you the readers. Alot of you are just silent bloggers, who back link and trackback (thanks).Eventually, it may seem that I have to revert to my old ways, and get my good old friends to pay for a good mention.

Any Freebies Anyone?

Oh Ya,did I forget that the FREE DOMAIN NAME offer still stands (or a months hosting fee refunded) compliments of …someone. That is my own personal offer.

Stun Guns Anyone?

Monday 5 February 2007 @ 1:53 am

You must ask why I am such a joker and a loser nowadays, by selling my soul and space to these advertising dollars? Well, its about a balance between making a living, covering my costs to inform your mind, and well, ethics.

You see, while I was in the UK,I had kind of a stable income.About $2500 a month, and when I had a problem back home, I dropped everything, knowing it’s harder to get back to the United Kingdom. So Essentially, I still need to live, whilst in Malaysia. Need to pay the ever increasing bills and study loans which I took out.

So why the mention of Stun Guns?? Just cheekily, I want one. Like while I was in Penang Island recently, I encountered many unruly behaviour, both by the Chinese and Malay, due to the bad driving ethics there. Some even go to the extent of breaking one’s windows and so forth. Recently, its getting far worse. The Mat Rempit is getting out of hand and throwing rocks at you, hoping you crash. Like the time when we are in Bukit Mertajam and at a roadblock, our windscreen shattered.

Thing is, a Taser Gun is useful when you are in the 15 feet range, shooting a pair of darts and immobilising the assailant. But with the Mat Rempit , the act like a pack of wolves. Robbery, Theft, Malicious intent, you name it. All in the name of fun. So you won’t have a moment of time to react to their 20 odd gang. So thus that’s where the stun gun comes in. The stun gun is a short and contact reliant weapon which is very small current, but of a high voltage, stunning the assailant. They come in many sizes, as small as a mobile phone or a Marker Pen to as large as a brick!

Though not legal in Malaysia, security personnel are known to carry them as a deterrent instead. I did carry two in my clip just incase we were ambushed by a group of drunken Thai Workers. Potent and effective. The will look as if they had epileptic seizure instead.

So coming back, I have a list what I need, and once I met these targets, I’ll cool it ..from advertising, and hit again when I get a good deal.Just like a Lion, roaming about only when they are hungry.

Talk about which, I am hungry. Time for Breakfast.
