Windows Vista

Tuesday 20 November 2007 @ 4:15 pm

After the thought…I might as well try upgrade to Vista. YES..Windows Vista Ultimate to be precise because I got the ISO DVD Image of Vista from the Digital Locker…and well, I have YET to read the requirements other than its supposed to be..well, heavy.

I was told my 1Ghz IBM NET Vista with 512MB Ram is JUST BARELY SUFFICIENT for it. So, I will toy about with my other half’s PC when it comes out of the shop, which is to be upgraded to a QUAD CORE G6600 CPU in it’s Acer Inspire 5572. Add 4 Gigabytes of RAM to it..which is just so cheap now… makes it a real whizz…

I’m just thrilled. And if you looking for the Windows Vista ISO Image.. ASK ME PERSONALLY.

Note: Getting and Downloading a ISO Image of a Software does NOT constitutes PIRACY. The Act of INSTALLING AND USING AN ILLEGAL COPY IS. Same as downloading Music or Videos. Listening to it is an Act of Piracy. Buy Original OK?

Hello Moto

Monday 19 November 2007 @ 10:59 am

Motorola has gone again to a new whole dimension. Instead of the normal Symbian OS installed in their new products …they did the unthinkable.. because what they did was like sleeping with the devil selling their soul for a whole lot of money. First, it’s Apple and RISC Based Motorola ARM Processors going to the way of …Windows. And now, they think of Blackberry and Windows.

Yes, their new Q9H by TURKI is a typical …well, Blackberry. HSDPA based 3G Platform with Windows Mobile 6.0 (ahaks!) as their platform, it incorporate 2.0 Megapixel of a Camera…which I find it ..quite stingy. They could have at least plugged in a 4.0M camera and with 2.4 inch screen, the least they did for us was using the standard USB to connect it with. So it become a modem to surf the web and you can extend it with a whopping 2GB of memory. Standard micro SD I think.

But I may need it…really because I can’t rely on the Technology to work in Malaysia properly as the infrastructure keep on failing..and with 4 days of without the web… I had to bear the brunt of warranty exchanges etc. At least with HDSPA, you can reach speeds of 3.6Megabits …compared to Streamyx of 1.0M on ADSL Broadband.

And NOT SPONSORED AT ALL!

I just want to exchange my Motorola A1000 for this one… Can I?

Lightning strikes

Saturday 17 November 2007 @ 4:34 am

Again..with surge arrestors etc, I got struck again by nature. Insurance? I got to see if they cover me for that after being struck 3 times running this year.

So my Routers, My Printers (HP are so expensive to repair) and my Computers…not to mention my Fax machine…are dead.

So till I sort the replacement out…I’m only at the local Cafe!

Pocoyo , Handy Mandy …and Knoppix

Tuesday 13 November 2007 @ 9:41 am

What does these elements have in common? Well,, Go ask Tia Baby who is messing with the TV, Playhouse Disney Channel and of course rebooting my PC every other hour. WOW, you clever notty dear. Hot Dog Dippady Dog. Miska Muska Mickey Mouse.

And so, I toyed about on the KNOPPIX DVD Live Edition Version 5.1.1 on this old IBM Netvista, because I have to debug some API CALL on the Linux Enviroment. What is that for? The Rewards System where you get paid to read blogs, sites and what nots. Plus to add to the extras, the Paid Review Sections.

Oh well, initially, I had severe CRASHES within KNOPPIX which is a Debian Flavour of Linux Kernel 2.6.2 boot strap loader.Image not Found. Bootstrap Not Ready, and when it loaded via the DVD, it kept on Hanging. And so I had to copy the ISO image to the C:\ so it can load faster and more stable.

Trick? KNOPPIX bootfrom=/dev/hda1/knxdvd.iso config=scan where knxdvd.iso is the name of the image file. At least the udev USB FIREWIRE loader is more stable than LivePlug.

Anyway, time to play about with the IceWeasel which is a cool edition of Firefox and they work well with my iPOD.

Back to my drawing board and me listening to ….Another Sad Love Song by Toni Braxton……now where that little mouse gone to????????

Dear Azrin…You have won from Yahoo!

Monday 12 November 2007 @ 12:49 pm

Well, I won something from Yahoo.. you know Yahoo the Search Engine. They picked me from a pool of affiliates and members alike. It was quite a nice surprise for me.. even though I don’t expect it to be much.

The prize? I won’t tell you, keep you all guessing. It’s something I would like..or Tia Baby.

Will be adding more stuff

Saturday 10 November 2007 @ 8:18 pm

Well, alot of freebies and stuff for you to sign up and get things going.

I have been toying about with the advertising programs , be it hosting or Travel related like TimeShares, Vacations, Airline Tickets and Reviews or just plain destinations to popular destinations like New York, New Jersey, Delaware and… yeah.. Visiting the United States because they are suffering from a lack of the Tourism Dollar.

This is an advertising signup code I installed thanks to Gavin from Text Link Ads who actually is a great guy in person, whom I met recently during an Advertising Symposium which I am not at liberty to say, because of the secrecy of some of the projects undertaken.

Making money for you small timers are tougher nowadays as the American Marketeers think that the Asian Financial Markets don’t have the spending dollar or whatever currency we use (they even think we still use Banana Leaf as currency..how daff is that?!) are not worth their advertising dollar or even their products. They don’t want us to buy their product other than Ford wants more of the Ford Ranger Off-Road Vehicles or even the worthless Ford Transits. These are just stereotypical of them. And only Geniuses invest in Asia as we all pay in Solid Currencies, not just in credit as opposed to be in the NYSE.

With over $1.3 Trillion in debt within the United States itself and just over $1.1 Billion US Dollars in the Mortgage Industry within the United Kingdom, there is so much debt than available hard cash in the US or even in EU markets whereas there are MORE CASH AND GOLD in ASIA, specifically South East Asia and China than the amount owed. Yes, who is crazy enough to borrow from the bank when Banks in Indonesia for example give out a whopping 24.9% at least in SAVINGS INTEREST RATES!! With that kind of rates, how much do you expect to pay in interest alone?!

And so.. I will add some freebies and stuff for you to make some decent cash, especially for the ASIA MARKETS, by the Asian Markets.

Best Regards.

And …. Ouch…my kneecap is really aching…that another story..with Tia Baby

Me and old age?

Saturday 10 November 2007 @ 12:38 pm

That is the predicament we Asians, typically Singaporeans have right now, especially when the PAP government had increased the pensioning age to 65 from 55 plus the increase in the minimum amount withheld for your monthly annuity or cost of living. One thing for sure, is that my old age is going to hit me sooner or later, with more than the halfway point to retirement age have elapsed.

Unlike the old times, they have a pension when they hit 55. They have gratuity bonus for serving the service too long. In the US, alot of companies have 401K and in the UK, it’s National Insurance Contributions which contributes to the state pension system which is the basic aspect plus the secondary aspect. Which comes to the value of about just under 80quid a week at todays rate which is just above the minimum wage or dole rate.

The requirement in Singapore of either the $100,000 in cash or a property as the consideration for minimum sum is that they don’t have the enough resources for more nursing homes as land is scarce. Also , the amount of manpower to quip the industry is way below the requirement , normally overstretched just as how it was in the UK. I remember that a RGN gets paid more than a doctor in the NHS Hospital working in the nursing home because of the amount of demand for elderly or invalid care. In such a way, alot of them opted to live a healthier and fulfilling life and move to resorts in Malaysia where the cost of their care in a beach resort with rentals etc is not even half of what they paid in the UK.

I don’t want to be in a home. I want to roam about… till the day I die. And just get the JCB and dig a hole and read me the last rites and just chuck me in there. End of story. No fancy mancy of a gravestone or what not. I want to work bit here and there… make my life useful,at least.

What about yours??
