So Ok..sue me for pinching Co-Op’s tagline for Smile credit card. I love them alot, especially them who provided alot of help for those of us with poor records of payment, messy family breakups, broken homes, redundancies and much more. The Co-Op Internet Bank is called ..SMILE. Literally and far from the Co-Op’s Honey Bright Yellow and the bee, their way is still the same, Ethical Banking. It’s a bank and yet it’s a Building Society, owned by members, co-operatively.
Their rate is far from being the lowest, but at 9.9% and Zero Percent Balance Transfer, they have the least charges that the other High Street Banks does, meaning THEY DON’T RIP YOU APART FOR BEING SHORT OF A PENNY!
Taking their credit card means you get a better rate on your savings and mini cash ISA, as much as 0.85% and 0.75% respectively, meaning THEY WANT YOU To SAVE. I want you to save, and as a co-op member, we benefit from spending on our card (which works like a debit card if you just clear the amount at the end of the month!) by earning points, which converts to cash and also dividends too! It’s complicated to the most, but I expect a nice voucher this month when I get my dividend statement.
And you still get points shopping at TESCO or ASDA or even Sainsbury’s! Every little Helps!

WHAT?! You offer me $2 for me to do a review of a credit card processor? Blogitive, come on, the company that promotes it.. Credit Card processing gets tons of money and they have the flipping cheek to offer me $2 for a post, asking TWO UNPAID BEFORE AND AFTER? Oooh come off it! Can’t even get a cuppa coffee in New York for that kind of price, not to mention Minimum wage!
Will you work your ass for $2? I rather join the Hotel Reservation network and write a fancy review of the service I used and still get $2…
Crappy!
Nah..I am NOT going to be conned this time to upgrade to Wordpress 2.2 ..mainly due to the recent teething errors that the system is having..I am contemplating of moving off totally…from WordPress and Hostgator.
Yes..I do notice it’s getting slower to load…..mainly due to so many widgets I installed. So I have to see if that caused the errors.
Don’t go upgrade to 2.2 yet….You will regret it!
Ooh yes..Matt got me thinking now..especially with the emergence of the 512GB 2.5″ solid state disks or SSD in the market by Simple Tech (STEC). Oooh …Solid State Disks…and no moving parts! Nitch Nada. No possibility of Hard Disk crashes…
How can I be more happy… cost wise? I recon by at least $5000 for the 512GB…since a 8GB CF is now about $28 which equates to about $7 per GB, working down to at least $6000, but as time goes by… things get super cheap…and from what I heard..even the new CPU (Quad Core / Core2 Duo etc) are coming in with built in 1GB ram and 1GB of NVRAM, so it’s built in with a basic operating system, meant for equipment like Routers, Network Drive Servers (NSLU, NAS alike) and dumb terminals for dust/dirt controlled enviroments like in clean room.
Ready for the next wave??
And I did see recently an equivalent of the 3.2Ghz Core2 Duo Mobile CPU from a friend who works in R&D.
Yeah.. Kuala Lumpur ( Wilayah Persekutuan ) is a busy city. Not good enough for me to call it a cosmopolitan due to the poor planning from the ever so useless City Councils and Local Boroughs. What I really hate about K.L. is….the traffic jam! Even on a paid TOLL WAY! Which is really ironic, because we pay TOLL to get away FROM the traffic jam snarls!
Believe you me, the past 48 hours cost me over RM490 in FUEL ITSELF, getting stuck in traffic for less than a total of 1000KM clocked from Kulim to Bandar Tasik Selatan and back. Heck, that excludes the fuel I need to add today…cos it’s already dry! Gosh! If it’s not bad enough… RM170 spent on TOUCH N GO aka the cost of the TOLL ITSELF! Alamak!
How I really DON’T MISS the city!I rather live in Singapore cos it’s more efficient ….but come to think of the rush..makes me rather stay in Llandaf Cymru in Wales..where it’s full of sheep and Bobinogs.
How tiring can it be….getting stuck in jams for the past 48 hours??!! Aiyoh Samy, Aiyoh Samy, Toll mau naik lagi ka??
I know kids nowadays are more or less corrupted, by TV, the Internet and of course, cash. LOADS OF CA$H. I remember back then when I was 12, I got my first plastic, an OCBC Debit Visa card, which was more or less a NETS Card. It was my own and with that, I know and learnt how to budget myself. Although I was using my own money, I was saving up using my chore money, aka money granted from doing my house chores (yes..I do house and other chores too!) and of course, school pocket money.
Then I remembered an old friend, the PAYjr Visa Buxx which is issued by BankFirst. That is a card, a DEBIT MASTERCARD issued in the United States, so that you as a parent or sponsor can control the spending of the child or ward. Charges are minimal, compared to other cards I have seen and no withdrawal fees. The card is available for use anywhere…except where teens would not be seen, like a pub, club, pornography, video shop or gaming sites, like casinos but not limited to just that!
The cost? $4.95 initial and 50c load fee! And that is all to it! No other fees. They take your checking or savings account as a means to identify you and you don’t even need to give them your social security number except of the childs! They are so secure..and it works without you writing a check. So forget that VMI Card or what not! That is such a bore!
Try it….you’ll never forget it!
