It’s easily done to create that huge and biggest mistake of trying to boost the ratings without the prior knowledge.I am an idiot myself and we learn thru our huge mistakes, and some, costed us alot of revenue in terms of poor pageranks. As a blogger, a drop of pageranks means a drop in revenue ratings. I suffered a huge drop from 5 to a big fat zero when the datacenter came by, and I took time to analyse the forensics and learnt alot of lessons thru it.

I’m using Wordpress 2.1.2 now.

1) Sitemap EVERYTHING. A lack of sitemap will cause agony to the Google Search Engine. They prioritise sites with a proper sitemap, as they are lazy to pull just the last RSS FEEDS and Archives.If you have interlinked sites or especially if you have a few sites under your main directory, it’s worth a moment to add those domains to it, with a update schedule (weekly,daily,hourly etc) as to how often you do it.

2) RSS FEEDS, Set to 100 POSTS. At least when it’s being deployed/pulled/leeched from your site, you have the last 100 posts inserted into the search engine. They love your RSS FEEDS. RSS FEEDS is a good means to know how great yr feed is,and your readership.

3) Install the INFO.TXT file from ALEXA. It just plainly contains the contact details. Alexa loves accurate details. Go to the Contact Information Editor in the ALEXA page after you select your domain name and site info.

4) Install the ALEXA Widget where it shows your rank,links in and review ratings without having to install any Toolbar.It’s plain easy and load it into your footer.

5) Register your site at Technorati.It will boost up the updates and give you extras. A registration will let you have an API key which you can really see who linked you in real time.

That is the most interesting question people asked me today. How to get that a boost. Playing MEME or Linky Tag sometimes backfire, cos like what happened a few days ago, a group of sites was kicked off as ’spam monger’ due to comment spam etc as they were doing too heavy of a linky.

Link tags, MUST be performed if the ORIGINAL CONTENT exceeds at least 25% as a minimum. 200-300 words would do the trick provided the Meme is not a long one. And if there is more than 15 links in a post, the flags go up!

My last evil Travller’s Tag was one. Plain Evil. Original Content needed and the instructions for the Tag and rules must be in BLOCKQUOTE. BlockQuotes don’t count to the TAG Value. They look at the whole content minus off the Blockquotes. Then the number of words factored over the number of original content, and if it’s over a value of 4, then it’s a plagarised post. Thus why I added so many rules, ask for deep links instead so it carries MORE VALUE and twist and turn the post abit as to your liking.
Thus why if you do a Meme, make sure you do it right!

If you do a TAG, remember to make sure to add more than 25% worth of content!

7) In your wp-admin/options-writing.php , make sure you have these in your RPC Pings.

Spiders are a hungry bunch.They love content. And the more content you create, the more they love you. The more they get it linked, the likely you go up. Thus the need to create lots of densely populated keyworded posts that is relevant to the topic. The more often you post, the more it’s being picked up!Only the latest news gets up!

9) Proper formatting of your Keywords. Install a Meta Tag Plugin so each post gets picked up with the proper keyword. Each post has it’s own keyword, so you don’t want something for News gets tangled for Comics will ya? The AutoMeta plugin does that. But before you publish, save it, and check the meta, is it correct?If not, delete it and then [save and continue publishing] so U see the refreshed meta, as how the search engine sees it. Add more tags if needed too, but less than 20 of them!10 is best!

10) Lastly, to maximise your Paypal or Google Adsense banners, modify the header. There is a code to insert into the title so that it will show SITENAME - (This post).

The trick is using the < title > What your site is < ?php ( if!(is_home() );{< ?php the_post();? >} ? >< /title > …something like that. I will need to look the code up fully cos I saw it over my template.

I don’t even want to stoop to the level of reducing myself to make people pay me to show them ways to withdraw money from their Commission Junction (CJ) or Tradedoubler checks. Yeah, I could cash it for them plus a fee, but I won’t. I let them do it on their own.

Now then I have started on the competition. The competition to be on the TOP EARNINGS of EVERYTHING. First it was the Top of the day from PayPerPost. I got hold of that screenshot once before, think 2 months back with 3 blogs. $50 odd bucks I think was the top, before segmentation and fastest clickers first.

Then it’s Blog of the Day. I hit it TWICE and someone even hit it twice within the same month! Call it a glitch, but out of 40,000 blogs registered thru PayPerPost blogging system, I must be hitting the jackpots. So I wish.

After that, I hit my target. Febuary’s TOP EARNER of the MONTH! Now it’s an underdog for the Month of March and happily, I hit the monthly again for March, thanks to the good fengshui and karma that bestowed upon Tia Baby and the Family. At least that pays for our trip back to Singapore and get some stuff for her. Greeaaaattt!

This time, I have a really managable target: THE TOP EARNER ALL TIME! Yes,Colleen is the Top Earner right now, with her hitting $1000 wins for the HP, but her range is still managable. I can get into the league by just $600 odd dollars and I just hope my luck don’t run out.

Coming back to LoudLaunch. I am now at #111, hovering between that and #107 with about $5 paid and $252 pending. Total Post Ranking : 4 Stars, which is great. I am still happy. Very Happy.

Blogsvertise had someone paid over $15,000 and well, I wish I can be so. So now I am aiming for that. FIFTEEN LARGE.

Ok, back to basics, WHY I WANT TO EARN SO MUCH. Did I recall I did say I have tons of debt? I want to be DEBT FREE. Period and finish off all what I want to finish with, my education, flight classes, a better home in the UK, a livelihood in Malaysia or anywhere to sustain me and the family for the next 30 odd years, till retirement. Agriculture looks promising enough.

It’s good to have targets. Better still if you work harder to hit it. While the Iron is hot, it’s best to get the most out of it, especially the Internet.I don’t know how long can it take to sustain me.Thus why I started the travel tag, so that you work harder to reach that easily accessable target.

Yes, I did not even realise I did my 400th Paid Post thru Pay Per Post! Thru their misery, it’s been 4 months officially I have blogged for them and so far earned $4409.34, and over 12 rejected or lost posts, and the highest lost post: $100! It was supposed to be my largest paycheck on per post amount too! Sadly, DVD Play seems that they think that cos I am not in the US anymore, I don’t qualify. They themselves said it, that you must have used it before. Their own words. Oooh Whatever right? Although the rest of my high earnings were just $50, it’s alot , especially which I lived thru the products.

My Cheapest Post? $2.50 Entitled Zam Zam Alakazam about a place in Scotsdale followed by a $3.15 for Tia Baby. It was the time when rates were bad. And I just want to keep my fill. Every little Helps….Asda Style.

Thus I reflect back what had happened and this and that rambles.

Yeah, I was hating that some of my fellow Posties gets their Technorati showing as N/A and thus this poses a problem to what I see, and thus I was suggesting to PayPerPost to create a plugin just like what it’s being done by Blogitive and their Directory and Adbrite.

So what my proposal to those who are stuck at Technorati Showing N/A and their Alexa not showing Properly and their Google Pageranks not on par ….are as follows:

REGISTER your Profile at Technorati. Claim your Blog. Simple post, that’s it!
You will then receive a TECHNORATI API KEY. This allows you to pull data off them like a pro.

For ALEXA. You need to install your INFO.TXT in your main directory of your blog/site.
Just go to the Alexa site, and edit your info there, and then upload that text file.
After that, verify and also installing your alexa tracker will track yr visitors properly without having to ask them to install the spyware toolbar.
