Salam Aidil Fitri

Monday 23 October 2006 @ 11:27 pm

Salam Aidil Fitri to all the customers, visitors and all others alike.
We will be gone for a week, to and from, North and South, AGAIN,… so anything let us know by SKYPE or YM.

Just to let you know, Geek’s Zone will be migrated to (I think) either CMS (Joomla) or Wordpress, depending on my mood and how well my creative skills are. (aka another half baked work of art!)

Also, Athira Azrin will be on leave, and we see if things work out nice enough.

A few things must be settled back in Singapore, so any wishlists, please let me know by emailing my Yahoo Email ( azrin619 ) , and best of all, Drive Safely, remember those loved ones, and be considerate of others.

I will be splitting the following domains :
Geeks Zone
HardwareZone.In
GamingServers.EU
VisitKent.EU

And much more.
Helpers are more than welcomed.

Take care!

Google Adwords For Your Target Market

Monday 16 October 2006 @ 2:02 am

Adwords anyone?

“, “First off, let me tell you where most Internet Marketers make their mistake. You log on to the Internet, do a little surfing, when all of a sudden it hits you right in the face! The very product that you have been looking for! The perfect “product” as a matter of fact! You cannot use your paypal account fast enough, so you can start selling your “product” on the Internet like crazy!

Do you realize what you just did? You just combined two of the hardest industries there are to make money in, Internet Marketing and Gambling! That is exactly what you are doing by picking a product before you find out if people even want it.

A product is incapable of giving you money, only people can pay you, and a “market” is made up of people. You must center your product around your market to be successful on the Internet.

So how do you uncover your target market? Easy, you just go to www.overture.com to use their keyword tool and type in what you want to search for and hit enter. It will tell you the most popular keywords for that particular word or phrase and it will also tell you how many people searched that word or phrase last month.

Typically, a good market will be between 40,000 to 100,000 searches for that particular month. Less than that may be a weak market, and more than that could be too competitive. To find out for sure use the overture bidding tool for a particular word or phrase, and look at the third bid, it should be at least .30 up to $2.00. Again, less than .30 could be weak and more than $2.00 could be too competitive.

With overture, you can basically be the highest bidder and get the first position, not too much guesswork involved there. But Google Adwords is a different story, there is definitely some skill involved in with this method.

However, with Google Adwords, you have the potential to bid as little as .05 and still be in first position! However, the problem is that most people do not want to take the time or put forth the effort to tweak out the perfect Google ad, myself included.

That is when I stumbled across a website http://www.perrymarshall.active.ws, which has an excellent course called, The Definitive Google Adwords Course. The basic course is fairly cheap at $49 considering all the information you get. If you want some audio thrown in, it is only $97, and if you want the deluxe with hard case cover, you will pay about $197.

Obviously, the best part about the course is that they tell you some of the secrets that are in the course. You can enter your first name and valid email address and get a free 5 day course.

They give away some good secrets, just enough to get you wanting more. But hey, we all have to make money somehow, right?

Seriously, this is a great course, I personally bought the basic course, and I have already raised the visitors to my website by 20% within a week of reading the course. Not bad for a $49 investment, I have spent more than that buying visitors from traffic exchanges! Which you should never do, by the way.

Any and every business needs to have the knowledge that is in this course. The bottom line is, if you do not have traffic to your site, you do not produce income. So I highly, highly recommend the Google Adwords Course.

Should I get Dedicated Server?

Monday 16 October 2006 @ 1:33 am

This Hosting bill is getting to me.
3* $7.77/mth for Powweb
$10.99 for HostGator
+ Domain Names to renew
+ Licenses to update
“, “Like I Said, this hosting bill is getitng on my nerves.

US$50/mth approx I spend a mth on Web hosting alone, bulk goes to Powweb.
They are good for the initial promos, but when you have finished with the promotional period, there is no more honeymoon.

I got with powweb , what since they started and I was still pondering about. Then it was $7.77 for 250MB Space which was good enough for HTML and some pics, as I don’t do porn on them!

Now it’s 12GB Space 10GB daily limit. Didn’t hit them yet (except last week as I was bombarded for some of my files.) and I got 2 packs, PREPAID for 2years get 2 years free.
I was greedy and thinking ahead, for next 4 yrs what cybersquatting scam can I pull off this time round.
Last time, it landed me with a $50,000 bounty for a nice domain name I held in 1994.

Coming back to the point.

Each ISP has their own limitations and I like the space and pletiful bandwidth I get for $8 on Powweb but needs more UNLIMITED DOMAIN NAME. Hate doing the HTACCESS stuff cos I keep on messing things. Especially the subdomain referrers.

What can I expect for $10 ? I thank God that for the 1M link equivalent. Trouble is when you renew, they don’t hand out the goodies to let you stay, hoping you are too lazy to move as it takes alot of time and effort, esp the downtime and database syncs.

Tell me about it. I got my wife’s site, and the huge chunk of images on BBS.NU and my CHAT.NU and TEMASEK.NU cos if I move, I need to change NameServers which cost me $10 at Nunames (better I renew em! $25/yr Free changes). Too much hassle.

It’s all about cost effectiveness. Gator is good in terms of Domains and SQL but stingy with Bandwidth, 75GB only compared to almost 320GB on PW. Not to mention the 5GB space.

Haiyah! What Am I Gonna Do?!

Then, look at dedicated servers.
I frankly speaking, don’t trust to put all my eggs on One ISP, after the NETAPP problems at Powweb One weekend, everyone were down for a few days! Then DDOS have to be considered.

RedHotServers offers good value, 100M link for $100/mth aka 9.5 TB of data! 40GB Space though.
Their top ends, starts from $139 for AMD 1400 (1.0Ghz) which is not bad if u don’t need that quite powerful service. Enough for normal stuff like me.Processor wise I mean. but space is small though.

Their recommended $219 is for a 3Ghz ,1GB Ram, 200GB HDD is quite reasonable. With Unlimited IP Address, I could resell the service, IF I CAN GET A GOOD LINK.

Think, and raise this to the budget.

More stuff to do.. domains and contents

Wednesday 11 October 2006 @ 6:33 pm

I added some extras on this PostNuke site ….”, “If anyone did notice, I added another domain name called Visit Kent dot EU (VisitKent.EU) with the same sounds of the late EUJet.

Since I live in Kent and work in Kent, Garden of England, might as well I write things down for the local community and Economy.

Like the ad on South Eastern Trains says : ‘Most of our Explorers didn’t even get past Kent yet. ‘ with a child on the ad running about.

Garden of England, hence the Licence Plates ‘G’ like some has GK02MAX or something.

A little history is that I started living in UK in Canterbury, the city of Twinned Ravens or what ever the call it, Journey of the Pilgrims and I can’t get myself off Kent. I love the Kentish views, and yet the cold bitter and dodgy weather won’t let me away from the favorite: Kent Seaside and the Fish & Chips… not to forget Folkstone Harbor.

I will add more to that story in a minute but along with Visit Kent domain, I added Google Key which relates to Key Areas for Google, Key to Google world.

Whichever it is..I will not sell the domain and Squat on it. I tend to buy the domain for my own use and make better of the Kent County known…so if you have anything newsworthy to let me know…I’ll put it here! Like Easter Egg hunts …or what festivals. Visitors can also find more things about yr travel related services like Hotel and Accomodation ..plus any attractions here!

No charge for the review… as it will be ‘pulled’ from yr website.

“, “0″, “131″, “11″, “azrin”, “Google Key and Visit Kent.EU

Got something worth telliing in your local area? Let it be known….
