Oooh Bugger!

Thursday 20 April 2006 @ 6:47 pm

This is ONE OF THOSE THINGS I HATE BEING BORN IN SINGAPORE!”, “Yes, you read it correctly: Its ELECTION SEASON!

No holiday for me…unlike the mass of Singaporeans ..who have to spend their precious SATURDAY 6th May 2006 to go to the POLLS!

Well, the other bit I hate being born Singaporean is NATIONAL SERVICE anyway.. cos why? I’m a flipping rebel!

Yes.. The stinking PAP (PAY-AND-PAY) tried to cheat the constituents of having a free holiday by forcing the citizens to forgo their saturday (it’s LWE anyway for NS BOYS..no SAT work ) to go to a school or community center to go cast their vote.

Flipping Heck..this ain’t fair mate! They flipping well know they gonna win! So why these..waste people’s time! Do it on a friday or what…makes everyone HAPPY!

If I got the flipping resources… I might sponsor some idiots to put their name just on the nomination…. Heck don’t care if they lose, but NOWAY I am going to let 37PAP cronies beat themselves into parliament via a WALKOVER. They should make it constitutional that ALL GRC or MP MUST STAND in an ELECTION.

Like while I am in Kent, ANYONE can go and stand in the local elections. Heck even if you are NOT a BRITISH CITIZEN, as long you are Commonwealth or EU, you can stand to be elected, without having to place any money as deposit whatsoever. There were in the last elections, that I find the voting papers having some what i call them ‘ficticious’ names… at least you have a full proper mandate.

All they want in Singapore is..MORE MONEY. HOW CAN ONE COMPETE if their party funds are so much depleted. What about Independent GRC?

Back to BASICS …COME ON SINGAPORE,.. WAKE UP!

And…finally…NS.. the new website for the military service in singapore is now instead of MiW.Com.Sg or CMPB.COM.SG ..it’s http://www.NS.SG …how cunning is that?

“Why bother to go and vote…?

What do I have to do?

Tuesday 18 April 2006 @ 7:30 pm

Gosh…my list of To-Do List is darn long!

Okay…I’ve been a lazy bastard…. like the title of the site says: Lazy Lair rite?
So Bless Me for being alive still and Thank Allah for the Opportunity to carry on…

So…my huge to do list

DAILY LIST

    1.Update this log.
    2.Update Athira’s site
    3.Check on finances..and WEBSTATS
4.Update the EBAYTRUST Info Network website.

To-Do (Huge list?)

1.Update and Upgrade the INFO PERKAHWINAN Website..which has been long time Overdue. (http://www.Perkahwinan.Info)

    2.Re-Code the CHAT SERVER (http://www.Chat.NU)

3.Re-Do iExploreAsia Group Website (http://www.iExploreAsia.Com).Took the site totally down few weeks back cos I was shit with Mambo, and the fact that the Forum doesn’t work with the shopping cart.. dunno why!

4.Check why the Realty-Estate software don’t work in this enviroment (database errors?). In relation to FREEPROPERTYLISTING.CO.UK - UK Premier Free Property Listing Guide . Supposingly to be placed on http://real.freepropertylisting.co.uk

5.Test our WHY CLASSFIED AUCTIONS don’t work again. Re-Do Everything. Relative to Perkahwinan Org Server (but supposed to be part of BBS.NU or TEMASEK.NU site) .. tentitively at http://class.perkahwinan.org

    6. Add and run the Banner Ads Server properly you lazy twart! Its already working..but the interface to allow new publishers and advertisers need to be set up. I think I can get this done up… as i did some CUT-N-PASTE job using the lib-locale scripting modules. Same aspects to how CRISPADS are running.

    Site is located at http://ads.perkahwinan.org

7.Maybe a proper site for TEMASEK.NU ? cos rite now..it has nadda… alias to bbs.nu. Those who wondering, TEMASEK is the ancient name for Singapore, and .NU to me is NUsantara (archipelago) or NOW in Swede. So it may literally say TEMASEK NUSANTARA aka SINGAPORE , Archipelago.

    8. Yeah.. time to revamp BBS.NU Community Sites …so the main page won’t be totally just the Photopost site. This is after some cusses and nagging by loads of users!

This includes the FORUM CORNER (BULLETIN BOARD!) which controls the Photo Gallery (not Gallery 2 cos it sucks!) user database and in turn services the weblogs of MARLINDA RADZI - In the Kitchen with Kak MonTeY and also interlink with other free blogspot users and Bloggers alike.

    9. Rewrite the Photopost SQL data so it won’t show the photopost copyright!

    10. Merge the Creative from the Ads located in BUY.AT , Paid4Clicks, CJ, TradeDoubler (even though they are shitty now!) ..and run the creatives from there.
This is in relation to ADS SERVERS, CLASSIFIED and FORUMS.

Yeah… the forums need articles and things to discuss about. That’s what BBS is all about rite? Bulletin Boards….

    11. Yeah.. finally…don’t forget the STUDY SUPPORT NETWORK that I installed for helping people learn a new skill everyday. Free rite ? Did I forget to mention that?

The site is alive…but content is lacking.. located at http://study.bbs.nu

In the Planning:

QURAN.NU Mirror service. I have loaded up the QURAN MP3 from them to mine, just for my own referal and dakwah archives. This is part of the free things I wanna do for His cause. For Islam, For Humanity…
That will be part of another huge massive project..cos I need to determine the funding
Note: what else did I forget?
I’m so forgetful nowadays …
Have to figure out the structure for (10) …too much interlink and dependancies

Pay Per Click & Adwords 2005: Expensive Without Expert Help

Tuesday 18 April 2006 @ 2:04 am

Pay Per Click ?”, “Despite being online using email since 1995, at the start of the summer of 2004 I had no idea what pay per click was.

During that summer, I had taken some time off work and was researching online opportunities. This led me to Ebay, various get rich quick type scams, and then an email referral to marketing using pay per click.

What was pay per click, I remember asking.

Days of research later, I learned that pay per click (also called ppc) was a type of search marketing where advertisers pay a set amount every time their ad was clicked by a prospect. This is known as a click thru, click through rate or ctr.

The opportunity to place your ad directly in front of a prospect at the exact moment they are searching for your product or service is tremendous.

Performance based advertising is not only cost efficient and effective, but it is track-able and user-friendly. The advertiser, you, in this scenario has control over the keywords that best represent your product.

The PPC model allows you to decide how much you are willing to pay per customer. Unlike banner ads that demand payment on a cost per thousand basis, the only viewers you pay for are those that are actively seeking your product or service.

In a Google search, I learned the small sponsored ads on the right hand side of the page were a type of pay per click called Google Adwords.

I discovered that the pay per click world was huge, with millions of clicks delivered by hundreds of search engines such as Overture, Find What, ePilot, Enhance and GoClick.

The great benefit is the cost-effective, highly targeted website traffic that this type of search generates.

However, the massive popularity and growth of pay per click had also made it very expensive.

For example, Google Adwords allowed me to set up campaigns and see them live within 15 minutes. This was very, very exciting and very addicting.

Within days of learning about pay per click, I was generating 1,000 clicks per day to my various campaigns. I thought I was seeing success in pay per click.

In the early days of ppc, that may have been true because your bids on popular keywords were just pennies a click.

By the time I was hitting it, popular keywords were around $1 dollar per click and I was actually losing hundreds of dollars per day.

Worse yet, my keywords were being disabled and my ads were getting disapproved.

Then I started watching for sales. I kept watching, and watching, and watching and by the end of that first week, my 6,800 adwords clicks had produced only 3 SALES for $55.

I was crushed. My brand new online business had already lost $500. This is when I realized just how steep the learning curve was.

I signed up for free-5 part email courses on Adwords and pay per click. I learned about converting traffic into sales, avoiding the curse of disabled ads, return on investment, finding niche keywords and lowering my cost per click.

Today, no one is quite sure where the pay per click industry is going.

The bottom line is pay per click campaigns can bring large numbers of highly targeted visitors to your website. The industry is growing rapidly, it is hugely competitive and campaigns can become prohibitively expensive.

Success of any pay per click campaign comes down to paying pay a reasonable price for each visitor, that each visitor is highly targeted, and that you continuously monitor and track your positions.

4 Steps to a Successful AdWords Campaign

Sunday 9 April 2006 @ 1:57 am

Not getting the satisfaction you want from your AdWords account? Want to make more money by spending less?

Google AdWords has made many businesses successful by providing them with a great deal of highly targeted traffic for as little as 5 cents! Yet many webmasters and advertisers are incompetent when it comes to using AdWords efficiently. After $100 in losses and having many failed campaigns, I have learned how to solve many of these setbacks, so I have put together a list of the 4 steps required to come out on top.

1. Design

Decide how the layout of your ad will present itself. Next consider what you want to be included in the title and what facts or catch phrases you want your visitor to know before they decide to spend your money by clicking on your advertisement. Don’t be a fool and get your ad disabled, please be sure to follow all of Google’s rules and regulations on there editorial guidelines page.

Many computer owners are just learning how to purchase using the miracle of the internet and even more people do not understand that when they click on those Google ad’s they are spending someone’s money just by clicking on it. They also don’t understand that most of the pages that they are going to be clicking on are product pages trying to sell them something. Many aren’t even interested in spending any money no matter how convincing your sales pitch can be. Though, this depends on what they are searching for. To avoid this simply yet destructive problem merely put the price of your product directly into your ad.

2. Brainstorm

This is where my downfall began, I selected few keywords and in turn received little traffic, and the traffic I did receive was very expensive! To avoid this start off by taking the position of your possible customer. If you were searching for the product that you sell, what would you, as a customer search for? Do that now and make a list of as many search phrases and keywords you can think of. Don’t be afraid to use Google’s keyword tool, though I found that this isn’t too helpful.

After you squeezed out as many words you can, glance over them and determine what words and phrases can be combined to form a new one. Simply come up with as many words as possible, once you get started its easy and you should come out with around 250 keywords. Review this list and delete some of the keywords that are “out there” and wouldn’t produce targeted traffic.

3. Optimize

Never waste your money using Google’s suggested cost per click; it is 10 times higher than necessary. Many advertisers do not understand that there click through rate effects there position to the same degree with how much they pay per click. To make this easier to understand here is an example: if you pay 5 cents per click for the phrase “shopping cart” and your competition pays 10 cents and has a click through rate of .5%, to surpass this person in position you need to double your click through rate to anything above 1% yet you are still paying half of what he is! For keywords that are less targeted to your product or purpose yet still effective I suggest pricing them to nearly half that of highly targeted keywords for a rule of thumb.

Now that all your keywords and pricing is in place, set your daily budget lower than you plan on spending per day for now, this way incase it’s a failure you don’t lose that much. Let your campaign run for a few days, but before you do make sure you set up conversion tracking. Watch what keywords perform well and convert to conversions, and delete the ones that cost you nothing but money. If at first you don’t succeed try try again.

4. Experiment

As you watch the performance of your keywords and Ad groups you should continue to try new things. Change one word in your ad and compare the results to previous, trust me one word can and will make the difference; whether positive or negative that is for you to discover! If you are having trouble finding an ad that gets enough clicks to avoid being disabled brainstorm again and create as many ads as possible, even if they are terrible they will give you new ideas. Pick your favorite three and create a new ad group while comparing the results to your other ad groups.

If you do not find success after following all of these steps, what you’re doing isn’t wrong it’s what you’re trying to sell. To determine if your product is assured to fail ask your self this question: is this product helping someone or is it just another great idea? Chances are if it’s a great idea people aren’t searching for it, or in desperate need of it.

Continue to track and modify your keywords and Ad groups while watching your sales and popularity excel!

I Finally got paid!

Monday 3 April 2006 @ 1:36 am

YES! Commission Junction finally gave me my long awaited Commission Cheque”, “Yes, it’s not alot. But for £306.37 for the quarterly payments I opted to cash my earnings before the taxman comes in.

That is just based on EBAY UK Affiliate Earnings, not from insurance or Hosting programs that I am Signed up for!

So it is TRUE that you can make decent earnings on EBAY! That relates to almost 3,000 bids and excludes from other avenues like the EBAYTRUST-WEBSHOP or Tradedoubler which I am right now suspending their proceeds due to poor programs in place.

It’s an International Market here right now and not just the US Market the advertising dollars are pouring to, but also EUropean Markets. Notwithstanding, China and the Far East has alot of potential in terms of buying power. 2.5Billion Humans can’t beat the 150Million Americans can we? No Doubt they can spend but at the ratio of advertising dollar spent against earnings, I stick my guns to China and the Orientals.

Enough said, wanna know more?

Well, it’s a scanner proof banker’s order anyway, so I will drop to the bank to cash that in. Reminds me back few years ago I got a SGD Payorder from them drawn on OCBC Bank, and it was for a few thousand dollars. Back then, it’s all about selling. Now Per Click or what nots!

Easter over the corner and I am puffed!

Sunday 2 April 2006 @ 1:34 am

Easter is round the corner and I have so much to do.”, “Yeah! More holidays. Easter Holiday, Spring Bank Holiday Monday and I got loads of deadlines to complete.

What I have to face throughout the week before the holidays:

4/4 - Got an interview with Medway Council for the Post of Public Transport Officer

Have to prepare my documents and certs.

Have to prepare a layout for a 30 mins plan of the public transport system I am about to propose. Mainly, criticise the in-effiency of the system and the cost to the consumers that forces everyone including me to shun the bus service. Poor timings and high cost. No concession plans etc.Actually it’s kinda fun that I can cuss and swear the facts to them, make the directorate wake up. No reduction in rates and increase of frequency = more traffic woes!Poor kids going to school paying half fare for the whole trip. Mind you, it cost about S$8 to travel 4KM!

Find the codecs for marlinda’s website, and add some plug-in for the wordpress. Loads of trial and errors, so it’s gonna be alot of mess. I’ve to try and do that changes on the local server (DELL GX110) and see if the final changes works well.

Create a banner and change the layout of tia’s website. Put yr thumbnails of antics as a banner. Changes every few hours?

Encode the banner server login & changes.Got to place the ad rate, and change the PAYPAL EMAIL ADDRESS FIELD.

Allow publishers to register and activate their programs.

Allow Advertisers to register and start advertising programs.

If outgrow, then migrate to dedicated servers

Charges:10c per click + $1 per 10,000 Impressions?

depending on keywords.

Find out how to code the text-ads properly, like the Adbrite or Google ones. right now, it’s only banners only.

Fed up rite?

Next on plan: CHANGE MY WHOLE LAYOUT!

Then: Perkahwinan.Info website changes. Change the themes and formats. Put recipes and loads more.

Configure the Marketplace and do some try outs.

then: Change these FLIPPING ICONS!
